Shelves and shredding

The engineers had fun shredding some clear plastic bottles today using the plastic shredder and discovered we need to use a metal rod to push them down (otherwise they kept rolling over the blades or they bounced back out! :D). We'll also be looking into making a lid out of clear acrylic so that the tiny pieces don't escape from the machine.

Ms. Contreiras found a better shelf in school that already has horizontal shelves so we'll be using this one instead. The designers took measurements in order to be able to create boxes without lids for the shredded material and we will be adding labels as well once these have been laser cut and assembled so that we can sort the plastic by type and colour!
