Gathering ideas and research

This was the first meeting where we split into two groups; the designers in one and the engineers in the other. Overall, it allowed us to work more efficiently as we intended which is a great start! :)

Designers: The designers started gathering ideas for possible products and we decided to create letter-shaped tiles for our first mold. Everyone started creating the digital design on SketchUp for a different letter, experimenting with changing fonts, width, length and height for A, B and C. We'll hopefully be able to laser cut them next week and see what works best!

Engineers: The engineers and business & marketing students worked together today to add information on the melting and boiling points of different materials to the shared research Google Docs. Simeng made an elegant test mold of the hexagon tiles in MDF and it looks like it will work well in the oven. Maybe there is a better option but this should be good for us now!
